Mt Waverley - Chadstone InterChurch Council

altar candles flowers 250pxOver the last 40 odd years representatives from the various Christian denominations in the Mt Waverley and Chadstone region of Melbourne have been meeting as an InterChurch Council (ICC).

The MWCICC exists to promote awareness that we are all called to mission, that we should work together to bring about the will of God, and that we should seek to make our common beliefs more apparent than our divisions. Our ICC aims to initiate and/or give every possible encouragement to local ecumenical projects, providing a means for Christian churches to develop methods of decision-making in common.

On an annual basis we celebrate together the Easter and Pentecost seasons of the Christian church, and in 2012 we extended this to the Advent season as well. Hopefully this will become a permanent ecumenical celebration.

Some of the activities organized and/or sponsored by our ICC include:

  • Ecumenical Lenten Studies
  • Ecumenical Stations of the Cross
  • Pentecost Ecumenical Visiting
  • The Hymn Singing Service
  • Food for Friends Pre Advent Collection
  • In 2012, the ‘Carols in the Village’ event in Mt Waverley shopping area
